GRUB is the operating system boot loader. It controls the loading of the operating system kernel.
¶ Setting a password allows
- Protect from unauthorized access: A GRUB password protects your operating system from unauthorized access.
- Protect from changing boot settings: A GRUB password protects your system from the possibility of changing boot settings.
- Protect local data: A GRUB password can protect local data stored on your hard drive from unauthorized access.
Remember that a GRUB password is not a guarantee of complete protection of your system, but it can significantly reduce the risk of leakage of confidential data and increase the security of your computer.

- Run Dashboard
- Tab System control
- GRUB bootloader → Set password
- Assign a password to GRUB
- Reboot the OS
Now the system will ask for a password for the GRUB bootloader when booting.
